This course will cover theme parks, nationally and internationally. Six Flags! Disney! Knotts Berry Farm! Adventureland! Dollywood! Sea World! And more! Students will learn about the history and development of theme parks in general and specific parks, answering questions such as:
  • What, actually, is the “theme” of each park?
  • What is the history?
  • What are the featured attractions, rides, entertainment?
  • What are some “tie-ins” between parks and film and cultural arts?
Students will share their thoughts about why they like or dislike various theme parks, even to the point of sharing their creativity to the class by planning and designing their own “ideal” theme parks.
