All About Art is just that...all about art. The instructor will present color theory to students and the concept of complementary/opposing colors. Students will learn about some of the masters and their styles. All forms of art will be open for discussion and examination, from photography to sculpture, graffiti and more. Students will be encouraged to explore their own creativity and apply what they are learning to activities within and between class sessions. Although not required, students will have the opportunity to share their art and ideas with their classmates.
Annabel Whalen has had a love for art since a child. While in high school she studied advanced art and pursued every outlet for her creativity available. Upon graduation, she earned an associates degree in Visual Arts at Suffolk Community College.
As a local artist, she has embarked on a number of commission projects over the past ten years. She also is a Veterinarian Assistant working on becoming a Vet Tech as she is passionate about animals (as reflected in many of her art subjects - see above). In February 2020, her work was included in a Valentine’s Day fundraiser at Toast Coffee House in Port Jefferson with all of the proceeds going to local animal rescues. Personally, she views her art as a form of therapy and communication. Annabel believes that everyone has a creative talent to explore and she is thrilled to teach her first PBS ACE class and help her students find their talent!
