Calling all animal lovers!

In this class, students will be learning about various regions of the United States and the diversity of wildlife that can be found in each region. The regions are those defined by the U.S. National Park Service:
  • Northeast
  • National Capital
  • Southeast
  • Midwest
  • Intermountain
  • Pacific
  • Alaska
The course will highlight some of the National Parks and the wildlife that are protected in those areas, as well as different ecosystems and how climate influences wildlife. From the desert to the frozen waters of Alaska, students will learn about a wide variety of creatures native to these environments and how to protect and care for our planet!

Annabel Whalen has worked as a Veterinarian Assistant in animal hospitals alongside many veterinarians and has met a variety of furry friends in this work. She is currently taking classes that will result in her being a Licensed Vet Tech. She is passionate about animals and volunteers at animal shelters and has cared for several stray and vulnerable animals (including a baby squirrel). She has also worked with therapy horses.  Annabel is also an artist and she creates and sells art to generate interest in and collect  donations for conservation efforts. She believes in a powerful connection between humans and animals and is very excited to educate thoughtful minds to bring awareness to nature’s treasures and how we can all do our part to protect them.
